The Blind Tiger Ale House
The Blind Tiger Ale House
New York, NY
I may be cheating with this one a little. I mean, I know they have a patio (or outdoor seating) but I have never used it. I have been here with friends at different times over different years and it has always been the autumn. We sat inside. It was great and that's why it makes the website. It's great and fun and my comfort level is exactly where it should be.
For the purposes of this writeup, this will be from a visit from the end of 2021. A buddy and I were in town for a show. We had a low key evening the night before and were looking to have a good day out. We hit someplace for brunch and then were looking for something else after a nice walk around New York on a Sunday late morning. I used the trusty Untappd app and it pointed us here, reminding me that I had liked it before. They were open. There were games on and we found a place at the bar. What we thought was going to be a drink or so ended up being multiple drinks and lunch. This is where I recommend the tacos and the Spicy Black Bean dip. My buddy had the chili which was on special to which he had an extremely positive reaction.
The draught list was lovely. Lots of local to the Five Boroughs beers that were new to me. The music was great. The crowd was awesome. It was a good afternoon.
Parking was not a consideration for us. I would walk if I were going here again. There were neither children nor dogs and I don't think this is their type of place. I would be comfortable getting a beer here after the Manhattan Relay. And the tacos.
