Lowercase Brewing

Lowercase Brewing

Seattle, WA

The host of my AirBnB actually suggested someplace else but when I got out of the Uber, I saw happy people drinking beer. Dogs on the patio. Baseball on the television. It was a warm afternoon and it was very sunny. It was glorious.

I am going to hit on the things that I normally address at that end. Yes, it is dog friendly. Yes, there were kids there. Yes, there is parking. Okay, got that out of the way.

The beer is exceptional. The mEXICAN Lager (their capitalization) is wonderful. The perfect warm day beer. (I would add a little lime and pair with salty snacks, but that is me.) The iTALIAN Pils was crushable and I am not a pilsner guy. As an IPA guy, the Strata iPA was drinkable and a beer that I would recommend to those who don't love IPAs. The star though, for me at least, was the Belgian style Wit. It was perfect. The right spice notes and the wonderful funk. It made me think of some of the great open cask fermentations that I have had. Monks would love this beer.

The staff was helpful (they put the Mets game on for me) and knowledgable. They were awesome. The patrons were great too, including two REI employees that were more than generous with their time. Yes, this is a place where you can come after Type 2 fun, it may be encouraged.

Pub nibbles were the rule on my visit, including a pretty great pretzel.

This was such a delightful happy accident and I encourage you to visit.
